ebay etsy and limits for new sellers

I read a bit around and obviously ebay limits new sellers to 10 items per month, even if you pay for a shop. That does not sound very enticing to me. And it seems that it is not really clear when and weather these limits are lifted. Apparently they want you to post for free, but I sell plants and cannot post for free.
I don't know weather or not etsy has such limits.
Would you buy plants from etsy? (If you buy plants at all)
HOw didi it go for you with these limits?
