SSL can help with ranking?

Hi guys,

I been reading a lot about SSL and few of my website are already on SSL.
Google recently announced that they will prefer to link SSL website first vs others in the same niche.

I didn't notice much difference in SERP between my ssl vs non ssl websites.

what you guys think? anyone see any improvement in their SERP using ssl?
