Need help to protect my business from spam

Hi to everyone

I have my own online project in the writing niche
Im on it bemyself but in general Im new in SEO and online business

Today I saw that the competitors started to build "bad" low quality links to my site
The first thing I did I contacted to biggest link market and ask to add my site to the black list
And add those link to disavow via wmt

But I do not know how to protect my business for next
Maybe someone will suggest my smth
