Have any one ranked for a high volume keyword?

Can you share your experience on ranking your website for a high volume keywords. I want to know how long it took you and what is the search volume.

For example, I have ranked in the 3rd page for a keyword that have 60500 searches a month and it took me 1 year to get there.
