Add a second domain to Google Analytics

I need to collect analytical data for a second domain using Google Analytics.

After some research I've found that I can create a second account from inside the existing GA account or add a new property to track new site traffic data.

Both solutions should keep separate site analytical data, that is what I need.

If possible I'd like to know other users opinions about what choice can be considered the best and the pros and cons of both solutions.
